The I-Corps Hub Northeast Region is a coalition of universities that provides programs to help researchers explore the potential for scientific and technological discoveries to become products that can benefit society. Launched in January 2022 with a 5-year grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF grant #2048602), the Hub is committed to serving researchers of all backgrounds with an emphasis on inclusive innovation.

The Hub includes ten members: Princeton University, Rutgers University, University of Delaware, Delaware State University, Drexel University, Lehigh University, the New Jersey Institute of Technology, Rowan University, Temple University and Yale University.

Propelus I-Corps Regional Program   (Apply by December 5, 2024)

Online sessions on January 8th, 10th, 17th and 24th from 9:30am - 12:30pm

Our four-session Propelus program helps researchers explore the customer perspective to inform how a discovery or innovation can become the basis of a successful startup or venture.

Through the program, we provide training and grants to support team-based customer research aimed at investigating the viability and societal impact of scientific and technological discoveries.

To apply to attend the Propelus program, researchers must form a team of at least two people involved with the scientific or technological discovery. The team must include:

  • an entrepreneurial lead (often a postdoctoral researcher, graduate student or undergraduate) and
  • a technical lead (usually a faculty member)
Grants of up to $1,500 are provided to each selected team and can be used to fund expenses related to customer discovery research, including conferences and marketing tools.

The goal of our fellowship program is to encourage students, especially those from underrepresented groups, to participate in an educational experience where they will explore innovation and commercialization processes while participating in an I-Corps Cohort. Selected fellows will receive a fellowship stipend.
