Lehigh's Office of Technology Transfer (OTT) manages the intellectual property created at Lehigh from faculty research with the goal of enhancing the societal impact of our innovative work.  The OTT works closely with Lehigh's Office of Research and Sponsored Programs (ORSP), faculty, staff, and students to facilitate the dissemination of scholarly work through entrepreneurial and established business channels. 

More specifically, OTT:

  • Evaluates new Lehigh innovative inventions and discoveries for commercial viability
  • Protects Lehigh Intellectual Property (IP) in the form of patents, copyrights, and know-how
  • Markets university inventions for industrial commercialization initiatives
  • Negotiates agreements with industry (Material Transfer, NDAs, Licensing, IP)
  • Fosters industry and government relationships for advancing Lehigh inventions
  • Works closely with ORSP to enhance research funding opportunities
  • Insures university compliance with federal regulations related to Intellectual Property
  • Educates the faculty, students, and staff regarding IP and the technology commercialization process
  • Fosters relationships with industrial partners for faculty collaborative projects
